Description: | 566 yd. S. of Trevane, Saundersfoot. Looking W. Coal Measures. A small seam of coal with 'dilsh'. The coal exists as such for two or three feet to the left of the old level and for about one foot to the right of it. It forms a thin seam lying on the top of the 'dilsh'. The dilsh which elsewhere has taken the place of the coal is a black shaly clay, the result of the complete grinding up of the coal and of the strata associated with it. The roof and underclay are undisturbed as shown in the photo. The coal has formed a roof and plane of weakness and has been followed by a thrust. |
