Description: Hessilhead Quarry (Lugton Lime Works) 3.2 km. east of Beith. Ayrshire. View of crushing shed, and motor lorry loaded with raw ground limestone from an overhead hopper ready for despatch. The name of the owner of the lorry is Wm. Carmichael. An incline is seen running into the crushing shed, at the base of which is a truck mounted on the light railway with a full load of rock ready for crushing. The truck would be hauled up by cable.
