Description: | Parkmore Quarry, 1.2 km. north-east of Dufftown. Banffshire. The quarry is situated on the east side of the railway viaduct which crosses the River Fiddich. The primary crusher building. A close-up of a tractor reversing a trailer filled with blocks of limestone, to be tipped into the primary crusher. The interior of the upper part of the crusher building is visible. Note the rear wheels of the tractor, the axle has a double set of wheels on each side. Quality of the rock was excellent. Analysis of the Tininver Quarry Limestone (worked in the same zone of the limestone as Parkmore) revealed the equivalent of 97.20% carbonate of lime. |
