| Description: | Various crushing plant linked by a series of covered conveyors. It is thought that the building on the extreme right is the primary crusher where the freshly quarried blocks are first crushed. When first opened the quarry had continuous burning kilns. After a few years they were abandoned and the eight kilns of the 'clamp' type were introduced. The quarry is situated on the east side of the railway viaduct which crosses the River Fiddich. It is connected to the Great North of Scotland Railway via sidings. General view of working plant. |
