Description: W side of Peninnis Head, St. Marys, Scilly. Looking SSW. The weathering of granite. This shows the vertical fluting of the granite, and in addition the horizontal weathering so characteristic of the 'cairns' or 'tors' of the mainland. The peculiarly shaped rock to the left of the photograph is known as the 'Tooth Rock'. Figured in Memoirs of the Geological Survey - The geology of the Isles of Scilly (1906) Plate IV.
