View showing boulder clay cover in course of excavation with a dump of excavated material in the background (see C03776, right). Rockhead in foreground. Two workmen are standing next to a shovel excavator, a dumper truck is on the horizon. The rockhead is the boundary between the superficial deposits and the underlying solid rock. The excavator bears the markings 24RB (Ruston-Bucyrus, the makers).
