Description: | Corrennie Quarry, Tillyfourie. Aberdeenshire. General view. Pink quartz-rich granite with subordinate bands of grey quartz-diorite. The quarry floor, some 76 metres deep show a single sett-maker's hut in front of a light railway with a bogie. A crane jib projects out from the right. Two different coloured granites were worked in Corrennie Quarry, grey granite for crushed stone and pink for building, ornamental and monumental purposes. |
