Description: | Rubislaw Quarry. Aberdeenshire. A photograph showing the quarry face and floor. Showing steeply-inclined west-south-westerly running joints in grey muscovite-biotite-granite and material brought down by blast, the blocks are all sizes and shapes. Note the large granite block with a heavy chain around it awaiting lifting. Several quarrymen are shovelling granite chips into an open shallow box from the quarry floor. Granite chips after crushing to uniform sizes would be used for concrete. |
