Description: Cowglen, near Thornliebank, 3 miles south-west of Glasgow. Renfrewshire. Shallow stoop and room workings in Main or Rough Coal, exposed during excavations at New Fever Hospital site. Nearer view of C03590 looking north-north-east approximately in the direction of strike. A number of labourers are seen on the site. The Rough and Stinking coals are the equivalents of the Main and Jewel seams at the Giffnock Colleries.
