Description: Black Moss, 2.4 km. north of Dinnet Station. Aberdeenshire. General view of the kieselguhr (diatomite) works. The view shows the low wooden drying sheds spread out in the field, the larger storage sheds to the left. In the centre is the calcining kiln with its chimney. A wind pump is also seen. Work at Black Moss stopped at the end of the war in 1918, and the installations were all removed.
