Cambridge : University Press, 1916. 90 GALWAY GREY. Clonford Quarries, Co. Galway. Near the town of Galway there are extensive deposits of a dark grey marble, which is very hard and takes a good polish. The example from Clonford Quarries represents the darkest variety. It has a nearly black ground, with minute flecks of white calcite throughout the mass.
