Description: Clynelish Quarry, 1.3 km. west-north-west of Brora. Sutherland. Boulder clay, a glacial deposit resting on sands and fine-grained siliceous white sandstone (Clynestone). A view of the quarry showing a manually operated crane. Note the blocks holding down the crane stays. The sandstones are of the Clynekirkton Sandstone Formation of Corallian (Upper Jurassic) age.
