Description: | Platy, dark grey, calcareous shale. The section shows a brown-stained, isotropic, argillaceous base in which are set very numerous fragments of calcareous organisms, including echinoderms and shells, prisms of calcite showing rectangular and occasional hexagonal sections, and small bodies giving circular sections. A few small grains of quartz are present and specks of carbonaceous and bituminous matter are abundant. Calcareous shale, clastizoic. S 34538. The section shows a more intimate mixture of argillaceous and fine calcareous material enclosing many small crinoid columnals and some shell fragments. Calcareous shale, clastizoic. SL0056.
