Very small pyrite crystals are present, distinguished by tiny rusty patches on the surface. The Cornish Delabole slate is a high quality slate that can be split into very thin layers, making them very light in terms of weight. Delabole slate is named after the town of Delabole in Cornwall, and is still being quarried today. It is reputed to be England's oldest working slate quarry. Specimen size: 28x15cm. |
