Caption: Leadhills mine, a plan of the workings in Brow and Brown's Veins, Leadhills, Lanarkshire.
Description: About forty veins have been worked for lead ore in the Leadhills district but in many instances the workings have been shallow and on a small scale. The bulk of the veins belong to two main sets, one trending north-west and the other varying from north-north-west to a few degrees east of north. The Glengonnar Shaft, at an elevation of 1460 feet allows access to the Brow and Brown's Veins. The shaft is vertical until it cuts the Brow Vein at 100 fathoms.
