This massive unit has a very limited vertical and lateral extent. The massive lower part consists of lapilli-sized fragments of distorted scorcia, vesicular lava and crystal-rich fragments. The apparently finer-grained upper part is similar but contains proportionately more scoria and fewer crystal fragments. |
