Description: 8 m. raised beach resting on weathered Perelle gneiss. The beach gravel fills hollows in the surface of the deeply weathered and stained gneiss, and consists of sub-angular cobbles in a sandy matrix. Many of the largest boulders in the beach are weathered to shells (as in the top right below the hammer) with their centres removed. The section is capped by a sandy soil formed in part of blown sand.
