Description: Rams Clough, Hurtswood, about 5 m. E. of Burnley. Looking NNE. Millstone Grit Series of Lancashire. Measures below the marine band containing Reticuloceras reticulatum late mut. Bisat. The hammer rests at a bed of ganister lying on fireclay, which in turn rests on flaggy sandstone. Fragments of Stigmaria are seen to the left of the hammer.
