Description: The 'Arch Rock' on E. side of Freshwater Bay. Looking SE. The Arched Rock at low water. A sea-stack composed of nodular chalk in the Upper Chalk Zones of Holaster planus and Micraster cortestudinarium; the first named Zone being represented in the lower part of the seaward side. The shape of this stack is mainly determined by jointing. The smooth surface above the arch and facing the spectator is a bedding plane.
