Description: Horestone Point, about 1/4 m. SE of Sea View Pier. Looking N. Nettlestone Grit at Horestone Point. Boulders of sandy, tufaceous brecciate and conglomeratic limestone, on the outcrop of parent bed in the upper part of the Nettlestone Grits of the Osborne Series. Conglomeratic inclusions with white decomposed flints, and an overlying tufaceous band, are well seen to the right of the walking-stick (35 inches in length). Ref: 'A short account of the geology of the Isle of Wight', pp.126-127.
